Overview
Anger Management is an American multi-camera sitcom created by Bruce Helford that premiered on FX on June 28, 2012. The series is loosely based on the 2003 film of the same title and stars Charlie Sheen. The protagonist, Charlie, is a non-traditional therapist specializing in anger management. His professional life includes a successful private practice and pro bono counseling for an inmate group at a state prison. Before becoming a therapist, Charlie was a major league baseball player. His athletic career ended permanently due to his own struggles with anger issues. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Charlie manages his personal life, which includes an ex-wife, an OCD teen daughter, and a therapist who is also his sex buddy. The program features a cast including Shawnee Smith, Noureen DeWulf, and Michael Arden. The series ran from 2012 until 2014. It explores the life of a man who transitioned from a professional sports career to helping others manage the intense emotional state of anger.
