Biography
Quinta Brunson is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer born on December 21, 1989. She gained early prominence for her self-produced Instagram series titled Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date. Brunson subsequently produced and acted in videos for BuzzFeed Video and developed two streaming series for BuzzFeed Motion Pictures. She is best known for creating, executive producing, co-writing, and starring as second-grade teacher Janine Teagues in the ABC comedy series Abbott Elementary, which has aired since 2021. At the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, Brunson became the first Black woman to receive three nominations in the comedy category, including a nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
