Pinto Colvig was an actor born on September 11, 1892, in Jacksonville, Oregon, USA, and died on October 3, 1967, at the age of seventy-five. Also known as Vance, he is probably best known as the voice of Disney character Goofy and the original Bozo the Clown, a role he played for a full decade beginning in 1946. His voice work also includes Practical Pig in the Disney short Three Little Pigs, both Sleepy and Grumpy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the barks for Pluto the dog. Colvig worked for the Disney studio, the Warner Bros. animation studio, Fleischer Studios where he voiced Bluto and Gabby, and MGM where he voiced a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz.
