The Lucy Show is an American sitcom that aired on the CBS network from 1962 to 1968. The program served as Lucille Ball's follow-up to the series I Love Lucy. During the development phase, early scripts were entitled The Lucille Ball Show. Producers also considered naming the program This Is Lucy or The New Adventures of Lucy before ultimately deciding on the title The Lucy Show. The series is divided into two distinct eras due to a significant change in the cast and premise that occurred for the 1965 to 1966 season. During the first three seasons, Vivian Vance served as the co-star. Aside from Lucille Ball, Gale Gordon is the only cast member to remain through these changes, having joined the program during its second season. The show remains a notable part of Lucille Ball's television career following her previous work.
