One Day at a Time is an American television sitcom that aired on the CBS network. The series premiered on December 16, 1975, and concluded its run on May 28, 1984. Created by Whitney Blake, Norman Lear, and Allan Manings, the program follows the lives of a recently divorced mother named Ann Romano and her two teenage daughters, Julie and Barbara. The narrative centers on the family as they start a new life together in Indianapolis. Much of the series focuses on the misadventures of the mother and her daughters alongside their building superintendent. The main cast features Bonnie Franklin in the role of Ann Romano, with Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli portraying her daughters.
