Valerie Bertinelli is an American actress and television personality born on April 23, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. She first gained recognition as an adolescent, and has since earned adult stardom in various television series. Bertinelli won two Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film for her work on the sitcom One Day at a Time. She also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012. Bertinelli has hosted programs for the Food Network and appeared in several television shows, including Touched by an Angel and Hot in Cleveland, for which she earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.
