Cannon began his career as a teenage sketch comedian on All That before hosting programs including The Nick Cannon Show, Wild 'N Out, America's Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and The Masked. As an actor, his film credits include Drumline, Love Don't Cost a Thing, and Roll Bounce. As a recording artist, he released his self-titled debut album in 2003, which featured the single Gigolo in collaboration with singer R. Kelly. He subsequently recorded singles for a planned album titled Stages that was not released. Cannon married singer Mariah Carey on April 30, 2008.
