Overview

Accused is an American crime drama anthology series that premiered on Fox in January 2023. The show is based on the 2010 British series of the same name created by Jimmy McGovern and was developed for American television by Howard Gordon. Each episode presents the story from the defendant's perspective, beginning in a courtroom where the accused is seated without immediate revelation of their alleged crime or how they ended up on trial. The narrative structure follows how ordinary individuals become entangled in extraordinary circumstances through a series of poor choices until they reach a point of no return. In March 2023, the series was renewed for a second season which premiered in October 2024. The show combines elements of suspense and drama and is rated TV-14.
