Mekhi Phifer is an American actor born in Harlem, New York City. His acting career began in 1995 when he attended an open casting call for director Spike Lee's film Clockers. He was cast in the lead role of a narcotics dealer embroiled in a murder case. Phifer is known for his multi-year role as Dr. Greg Pratt on the NBC medical drama ER and his co-starring role opposite Eminem in the feature film 8 Mile. He also portrayed the role of Ben Reynolds on the Fox crime show Lie to Me before season 3. Phifer has appeared in numerous other projects throughout his career.
