Lawrence Gene David, also known as Larry David, is an American producer, writer, and actor. He was born on July 2, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, United States. He attended the University of Maryland and began performing stand-up comedy in New York night clubs in 1974. In 1979, he was hired to write and perform for the comedy variety show Fridays, staying until 1982. He then worked as a writer for Saturday Night Live for a year. In 1989, he collaborated with Jerry Seinfeld to develop a comedy pilot for NBC, starring Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, and Jason Alexander. David has seventy known credits and is primarily known for writing.
