Hannah Montana is a television series that follows the life of a teenage girl navigating two distinct identities. At home and school, she is known as Miley Stewart, a typical teenager. However, when she performs, she adopts the persona of the glamorous and talented pop star Hannah Montana. The series explores the complications of maintaining this secret identity while trying to balance a normal life with a rock star career. This dual existence often leads Miley and her friends into various capers. Created by Richard Correll, Michael Poryes, and Barry O'Brien, the show features actors Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, Jason Earles, and Billy Ray Cyrus. The program was produced by It's a Laugh Productions in association with Poryes's production company. The Walt Disney Company commissioned the series following the success of previous music-based franchises, including the made-for-television film High School Musical. The series premiered on the Disney Channel and ran from 2006 until 2011, documenting the adventures of a teenage pop star who keeps her identity secret from even her closest friends by using a disguise on-stage.
