Lainey Wilson is an American country music singer-songwriter. Born on May 19, 1992, Wilson began performing at an early age. She pursued a career as a country performer in Nashville, Tennessee. Wilson released her first album in 2014, followed by a second on the Lone Chief label in 2016. She secured a publishing deal and released an extended play in 2019, featuring the song 'Things a Man Oughta Know'. The song was later issued as a single through the BBR Music Group and reached number one on the American country songs chart. Wilson has received seven Country Music Association Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 2023.
