Kris Wu, also known as Wu Yifan, is a Chinese-Canadian former actor and singer born on November 6, 1990, in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. He was previously a member of the boy group EXO and its sub-group EXO-M before departing in May 2014. In July 2021, Wu was detained by Beijing police following rape allegations on Chinese social media, and his arrest was approved in August 2021 by the People's Procuratorate of Chaoyang District of Beijing. In November 2022, a Beijing court sentenced him to 13 years in prison for forcing three intoxicated women to have sex in his home, with subsequent deportation from China.
