Kotaro Tanaka is a Japanese actor born in Tokyo on December 13, 1982. He is also known as Koutarou Tanaka and belongs to Stardust Promotion. He made his acting debut in 2000 in the drama Heisei Meoto Jawan: Dokechi no Hanamichi. The following year, in 2001, he made his first movie appearance in Waterboys. In 2004, he won the 42nd New Actor Award of the Television Drama Academy Awards for his role in the TBS drama Sekai no Chushin de, Ai o Sakebu.
