Overview

AIBOU: Tokyo Detective Duo is a Japanese television detective series that first aired on TV Asahi. The series follows Detective Ukyo Sugishita and his partner as they solve cases as part of the Special Task Unit of the MPD. Detective Ukyo Sugishita confronts crime on the basis of his own convictions and has a partner that works for him in the Special Task Unit. For the first 7 seasons, Ukyo's first partner is Kaoru Kameyama, a good-natured, hot-tempered, straightforward and somewhat scattered detective. Beginning in Season 8, Takeru Kanbe replaces Kameyama as Ukyo's partner, and is described as a lanky, cool, conceited and confident detective. The series has been adapted into several films, including AIBOU: The Movie and AIBOU: X-DAY. The show has been ongoing for many years, with different partners working alongside Detective Sugishita, including Toru Kai from Season 11 to Season 13.
