John Edmund Mulaney is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer born on August 26, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois. He first rose to prominence working as a writer for the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2013, where he contributed to various sketches and characters, including the recurring character Stefon, which he co-created with Bill Hader. After departing from Saturday Night Live, Mulaney hosted the program six times, joining the Five Timers Club in 2022. His stand-up comedy specials include The Top Part released in 2009, New in Town in 2012, The Comeback Kid in 2015, Kid Gorgeous in 2018, and Baby J in 2023. He also won two Primetime Emmy Awards during his career.
