After quitting high school to join the United States Army, he was inspired by stars like John Wayne to pursue acting. His career included an appearance in The Green Berets alongside John Wayne, a stint on Broadway, and work in television and film. His television credits included the 1960 NBC western series Wrangler, an appearance on NBC's The Ford Show, Starring Tennessee Ernie Ford on June 30, 1960, and starring as 41-year-old Professor Howe in the 1963 ABC drama Channing alongside co-star Henry Jones. Evers passed away on March 13, 2005.
