Fer-de-Lance is a 1974 television movie directed by Russ Mayberry and starring David Janssen, Hope Lange, Ivan Dixon, and Jason Evers. The story begins when an American submarine departs from Tierra Del Fuego. Unbeknownst to the crew, one of the members has secretly smuggled a container filled with poisonous snakes on board. These reptiles eventually escape from their storage and bite key personnel inside the vessel. This sudden attack causes an accident that cripples the submarine, sending it sinking down to the bottom of the Southern Ocean. With the vehicle disabled, the surviving crew members face the additional danger of the loose snakes still roaming the vessel while they must devise a rescue plan to free themselves and raise the sunken submarine.
