Jane Therese Curtin is an American actress and comedienne born on September 6, 1947, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Commonly referred to as the Queen of the Deadpan, she first came to prominence as an original cast member on Saturday Night Live in 1975. Curtin later won back-to-back Emmy Awards for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series on the 1980s sitcom Kate and Allie, where she portrayed Allison Allie Lowell. Her television work also includes starring as Dr. Mary Albright in the hit series 3rd Rock from the Sun. On film, she recreated her Saturday Night Live character in The Coneheads and later appeared in The Librarian: Return to King Solomon's Mines. Her acting career comprises seventy-five known credits.
