Biography
Iain Armitage is an American actor born on July 15, 2008. He gained recognition for portraying Sheldon Cooper in the CBS sitcom Young Sheldon, a prequel to The Big Bang Theory, from 2017 to 2024. He also played Ziggy Chapman in the HBO miniseries Big Little Lies between 2017 and 2019. His voice work includes roles such as young Shaggy Rogers in the animated film Scoob! in 2020, and the character Chase in both Paw Patrol: The Movie in 2021 and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie in 2023. Armitage has expressed interests in music, flying, travel, and language learning. His name Iain is of Scottish Gaelic origin, derived from the Hebrew name Yohanan, corresponding to the English name John.
