Halle Lynn Bailey was born on March 27, 2000, in Atlanta, Georgia. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She became known as one half of the musical duo Chloe x Halle, performing alongside her sister Chloe Bailey. Together, the duo released the albums The Kids Are Alright in 2018 and Ungodly Hour in 2020, earning five Grammy Award nominations. As an actress, Bailey played a supporting role in the television sitcom Grown-ish from 2018 to 2022. In 2023, she played her first lead role as Ariel in the Disney musical fantasy film The Little Mermaid, and she also features as the young Nettie in Blitz Bazwale's musical drama adaptation of The Color Purple.
