Alfred Thomas Highmore, also known as Freddie Highmore, is an English actor born on February 14, 1992, in London, England, United Kingdom. He is known for starring roles beginning as a child in the films Finding Neverland in 2004, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005, August Rush in 2007, and The Spiderwick Chronicles in 2008. He won two consecutive Critics' Choice Movie Awards for Best Young Performer. Highmore starred as Norman Bates in the drama thriller series Bates Motel from 2013 to 2017, earning three nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series and winning a People's Choice Award. In 2017, Highmore began producing and starring as Dr. Shaun Murphy in the ABC drama series The Good Doctor.
