GMTV, originally standing for Good Morning Television, was the national breakfast television contractor for Channel 3 in the United Kingdom. It began broadcasting on 1 January 1993 and continued until 3 September 2010. The show featured a mix of morning news, interviews, and entertainment segments. Notable presenters included Penny Smith, Andrew Castle, Kate Garraway, and Lorraine Kelly. In November 2009, GMTV became a wholly owned subsidiary of ITV plc, which subsequently announced the program's cancellation. The final broadcast aired on 3 September 2010. Legally, GMTV is now known as ITV Breakfast Limited. The series was created by Gary Wicks.
