Nicole Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress born on August 3, 1979, in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. She was discovered by the Ford modeling agency in Kelowna, British Columbia. Lilly gained prominence for her first leading role as Kate Austen in the ABC drama series Lost, which aired from 2004 to 2010. This performance earned her six Saturn Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award nomination. Her film credits include The Hurt Locker and Real Steel. She portrayed Tauriel in The Hobbit film series and has played Hope van Dyne, also known as the Wasp, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe starting in 2015. Beyond her acting career, she is also an author.
