Biography
Edward Harrison Norton is an American actor, filmmaker, and activist born on August 18, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts. Raised in Columbia, Maryland, he graduated from Yale College in 1991 with a degree in history. Following his graduation, he spent several months working in Japan before relocating to New York City to establish his acting career. Throughout his professional life, Norton has been recognized for his intense performances and an uncompromising approach to his craft. In addition to his work in front of the camera, he founded the production company Class 5 Films in 2003. He is widely acknowledged for his contributions to cinema and has received numerous accolades and nominations throughout his career.

Norton gained significant recognition and critical acclaim for his feature film debut in the 1996 movie Primal Fear. This performance earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination in the same category. He subsequently starred as a redeemed neo-Nazi in the 1998 film American History X, which resulted in an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. In 1999, he appeared in Fight Club, a film that developed a notable cult following. Other significant projects in his filmography include the 2014 production Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance).
Over the course of his career, Norton has received various honors, including an Actor Award, two Critics' Choice Awards, and two Satellite Awards.
