Donald T. Beddoe was an American character actor born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 1, 1903, and he died on January 19, 1991. He was the son of Welsh classical singer Dan Beddoe and his wife Mary. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with bachelor's and master's degrees and taught English for three years. After a decade of stage work and bit parts in films, he began more prominent film roles in the late 1930s, typically playing fast-talking reporters and similar characters. His commercial acting career was interrupted by his service in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, where he performed in the Air Force play Winged Victor. On television, Beddoe portrayed Mr. Tolliver in the ABC comedy The Second Hundred Years and was in the cast of Life with Father on CBS.
