Dominique Pinon was born on March 4, 1955, in Saumur, Maine-et-Loire, France. After studying at the Faculty of Arts of Poitiers, he relocated to Paris and enrolled at the Cours Simon acting school. Pinon made his cinematic debut in 1981 in the film Diva, directed by Jean-Jacques Beineix. Primarily known as a theatre actor, he has maintained a constant on-stage presence since 1985, appearing in the plays of Gildas Bourdet, Jorge Lavelli, Valère Novarina, and numerous others.
