Christopher Allport was an American actor born Alexander Wise Allport Jr. in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 17, 1947. His acting career began at the age of nine at the Children's Theatre in New Canaan, Connecticut. He studied at Northwestern University, where he worked with director Paul Sills and Story Theatre. Throughout his career, he performed in New York with the Public Theater at Lincoln Center and the Ensemble Studio Theatre, and in Los Angeles at the Taper, South Coast Repertory, and with Padua Playwrights. In 2007, he wrote and starred in the theatrical memoir The Backroad Home, which featured his original music and was produced by his wife, Susan Hayden, at the Ruskin Group Theatre. Christopher Allport passed away on January 25, 2008.
