Biography
Catherine Anne O'Hara was a Canadian-American actress and comedian, born March 4, 1954, who began her career at Second City Theatre in Toronto. She became known for her work on SCTV and later starred in films such as "Beetlejuice," "Home Alone," and "The Nightmare Before Christmas." O'Hara was praised for her improvisational skills and dramatic range. She received a Golden Globe in 2021 for her role in "Schitt's Creek," and two career Emmy Awards. She also voiced characters in animated features and was honored with a Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara passed away on January 30, 2026.
