Overview

Elemental is a 2023 American computer-animated romantic comedy-drama film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. The film is set in a world where fire, water, earth, and air residents coexist in a city called Element City. It follows the story of a fiery young woman named Ember and a go-with-the-flow guy named Wade as they discover how much they have in common. Directed by Peter Sohn, the film features the voices of Leah Lewis, Mamoudou Athie, Ronnie del Carmen, Shila Ommi, and Wendi McLendon-Cove. The screenplay was written by Sohn, John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh. Graphics art director Laura Meyer contributed to the film's visual design, overseeing elements such as lettering and signage within the animated world. Elemental was theatrically released in 2023 and became a moderate box office success. It is Pixar's twenty-seventh feature-length film.
