Edward Michael Bear Grylls was born on June 7, 1974, in Donaghadee, County Down, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. He grew up in Donaghadee until the age of four, when his family moved to Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. He is the son of Conservative politician Sir Michael Grylls. Grylls is a British adventurer, writer, and television presenter, and he has eighty-two known acting credits according to the database. He is widely known for the television series Man vs. Wild, which aired from 2006 to 2011 and was originally titled Born Survivor: Bear Grylls in the United Kingdom. He is also involved in various wilderness survival television series in both the UK and the US. In July 2009, at age 35, he was appointed the youngest-ever Chief Scout in the UK.
