Andrew Lloyd Webber, Baron Lloyd-Webber is an English composer and impresario of musical theatre. Born on March 22, 1948, in Kensington, London, England, United Kingdom, he was born into a musical family, coming into contact with music early in life. His father, William Lloyd Webber, was a composer and organist. Andrew Lloyd Webber has composed 13 musicals, a song cycle, a set of variations, two film scores, and a Latin Requiem Mass. Several of his musicals have run for more than a decade in both the West End and on Broadway. Several of his songs have been widely recorded and became hits outside of their parent musicals, and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation has become a leading British charitable organization supporting the arts and music.
