Alan Michael Ritchson is an American actor born on November 28, 1982, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He is recognized for his work in both film and television. Beyond his acting career, he has also worked as a model. Ritchson moved from Florida to Los Angeles to pursue his professional interests in the entertainment industry. He is the son of Vickie Harrell, a high school teacher, and David Ritchson, who served in the United States Air Force. Throughout his career, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the action and superhero genres, gaining significant recognition for his portrayal of title characters in long-running streaming series.

Alan Ritchson made his acting debut portraying Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, on the superhero series Smallville. He appeared as a guest star on the program between its fifth and tenth seasons, which aired from 2005 to 2010. Following this, he secured a starring role in the Spike TV sitcom Blue Mountain State, appearing in the series from 2010 to 2012 and later reprising his role for a 2016 film sequel. His television work continued with a lead role in the 2017 SyFy action series Blood Drive. Between 2018 and 2021, he returned to the superhero genre as Hank Hall, or Hawk, in the series Titans, which aired on DC Universe and HBO Max.
In 2022, Ritchson gained wider recognition for his performance as the title character in the Amazon Prime Video action thriller series Reacher. He has remained in this role for the ongoing series. Throughout his career, Ritchson has accumulated numerous credits across both film and television productions, establishing a consistent presence on the screen since his initial debut.
