Born on November 24, 1958, in Oran, French Algeria, he is known for his work in the comedy group Les Nuls, where he co-wrote and acted as the lead actor in La Cite de la peur in 1994. He also co-created and hosted the Burger Quiz game show. As a filmmaker, Chabat has written, directed, and starred in comedy films including Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra in 2002, RRRrrrr!!! in 2004, and Houba! On the Trail of the Marsupilami.
