Aksel Hennie, born 29 October 1975 in Oslo, Norway, is a Norwegian actor, director and writer. He grew up in the Lambertseter district of Oslo. In his late teens he was sentenced for graffiti, an experience that later informed the background of the film Uno and was among the first such convictions in Norway. After four applications he was admitted to the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre, graduating in 2001. He subsequently performed at Teatret Vårt in Molde from 2001 to 2002 and has been a regular at Oslo Nye Teater since 2002. Hennie has appeared in a number of successful Norwegian movies, has received several awards, and is credited in fifty film and television productions.
