Brisbane long haul truck driver, Glen Bennett, who lost both legs in a semitrailer explosion, is calling on Queenslanders to donate to 2025 Giving Day in support of patient care innovation and medical research which greatly improves outcomes for patients, like him.
In August 2020, driving in thick fog and smoke, the father-of-one was seriously burnt in a multi-vehicle highway pile-up in Central Queensland. He was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) where he spent eight and a half months, the first 24 days in a coma.
