“Joy That Fights for You”
As we enter Week 3 of Advent, remember this:
Joy is not a mood.
Joy is not a personality trait.
Joy is strength—and Scripture says it fights for you.
When the angel said, “I bring you good news of great joy,” He wasn’t describing a feeling.
He was announcing a power that breaks into weary hearts and lifts them when nothing else can.
Some of you feel drained, discouraged, or stretched thin.
The last thing you feel right now is joy.
But that is exactly where God meets you.
Biblical joy doesn’t deny pain.
It rises in pain.
It is the deep confidence that Christ is with you, Christ is for you,
and Christ can redeem even the places that feel impossible.
Nehemiah said, “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Not your motivation.
Not your positivity.
Your strength.
Joy is what pushes back the darkness.
Joy is what steadies your mind when anxiety shakes you.
Joy is what reminds your soul that God is still writing your story.
This week, ask the Lord to restore joy—
not as an emotion, but as the power that keeps you standing.
Let joy fight for you,
because the Christ born in Bethlehem still brings strength where you feel weak.
