Colleagues under the spotlight, with fresh bouquets of flowers as the velvet curtain gradually closes… it’s truly not an easy thing for me. But maybe because of fate, I have to be content with what I have. have and let go of what does not belong to you.

Le Tuan Anh made a strong impression on the audience when playing the role of Phu – a prostitution broker in the film Quynh doll. Some viewers commented that Tuan Anh played the role of Phu very well, with the clever tongue of a shepherd. After Quynh dolldirector Mai Hong Phong continued to give him the role of “Thang Bom” in the film Choose your destiny.
After that, the actor continued to play Thuan in the movie Street in the villagemaking the audience extremely angry because of his excellent transformation.
Vietnamese people had a conversation with Le Tuan Anh when he received the news that he was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist this time.
Le Tuan Anh was awarded the Meritorious Artist award upon retirement
Receiving the news of being awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, how do you feel?
– I feel very happy and happy to receive this title. I was also informed by the Director of the Youth Theater where I used to work and read the decision. What I feel proud of is that I am not a formally trained actor but I am still recognized for my dedication to the profession.

It is known that you have retired, why did you make this decision?
– It’s true that I left the Youth Theater where I worked, calling it retirement wouldn’t be wrong. I decided not to do theater anymore because nowadays the stage has few audiences and no customers, so I feel like I don’t have many opportunities to contribute to the stage. But if there is a play that I have acted in before, without having to rehearse, if the theater needs it, I will still be ready to participate.
How did you get into the stage?
– I came to the stage by fate. After returning to the theater, I worked in the Performance Department. One day, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung, then the Head of Group 2, told me to try out if I was accepted, because “with a face like that, organizing a performance would be a waste.” After auditioning, I was accepted into Mr. Chi Trung’s group. Because I inherited my parents’ artistic genes, had a voice suitable for the stage, and self-taught, I got involved quite quickly.

Does your father, artist Duc Trung, support and support you in your career?
– My father and I have different directions and styles, so I developed in my own way.
As for the film industry, will you still participate?
– I still continue to act in movies. With movies, I feel I can still contribute. Taking a break from the Theater, I have more time to participate in movies.
When did you start acting?
– Actually, because I am a “family member”, I have been acting since a very early age. From a young age, I was chosen to act in plastic films. When I was 9 years old, I became the “son” of People’s Artist Doan Dung (film Father and son) and People’s Artist The Anh (film Return to Sam Sao). After that, I still went to make movies, but I didn’t appear too much and was usually a supporting role, especially if I was only invited by someone who invited me to participate.
Why do you often choose villain roles? In the future, do you plan to play a positive role or continue to play the villain role that you have succeeded in before?
– Actually, I didn’t choose to play the villain. Because the directors chose me to play the villain, I played it. I also really want to change. But maybe the directors don’t trust me in the main role, so in the future, I’ll probably still play the villain.
How did your father – People’s Artist Duc Trung – feel when he was awarded Meritorious Artist and he was awarded People’s Artist at the same time?
– My father is very happy. He doesn’t want to talk about his title yet, but many newspapers have reported about this. In the past, when I often played the villain in movies, my father didn’t like it. He often said I was nothing like him. He often told me: “Your face is not that of a villain. If you don’t play a good role, why do you keep accepting the villain role!”. But each person has their own strengths, I can’t choose when the directors choose me to play such a role.

On stage do you play the main character?
– On stage I play many types of roles, including comedians, police officers, successful businessmen and even leading roles. The roles that won Silver and Gold medals in my recent theater festivals are all leading roles. In 2018, the play O sin house Attended the National Theater Festival, my role won a Gold medal. My role as a bureaucratic police officer in Who is the culprit (script Luu Quang Vu) entered the Theater Festival with the image of a police soldier and also won a Silver medal.
Do you feel that being awarded the title at this time is the right time, or is it too late?
– I’m very happy that I achieved this title even though I left the stage. To be honest, I think it’s a bit late. My profile has been submitted by the Youth Theater since 2021. At the Youth Theater this time, there are also 3 more people awarded Meritorious Artists: Quanh Anh, Mr. Thanh Binh and Ms. Nguyet Hang.
Are you currently working on any movies?
– I’m participating in some Tet comedies this year.
Thank you for sharing the information!
