Four Corners of the Earth Music Video

[Verse 1]
He left with a Bible and a burlap sack
Mama packed cornbread
Stitched his name on the back
Shoes full of gravel
Heart full of “go”
Kissed that red clay porch and whispered
“Lord
I’m Yours
” real low

Bus stop bench
Sunrise in his face
Ticket to anywhere they’d let him take grace
One small suitcase
One worn coat
A promise in his pocket like a lightning bolt

[Chorus]
He said
“Send me to the four corners of the Earth
Dust and snow
Ashes
Gold and dirt
From the crowded markets to the quiet fields
I will speak Your name till every heart yields
If I’ve got breath
I’ve got a sermon in my chest
Till the last lost soul comes home to rest”

[Verse 2]
First came the city with its crooked smiles
Neon cash registers and narrow aisles
He stood by the buses where the layoffs lined
Shared bread
Shared stories
Shared a hope he’d find

He prayed in doorways
Under broken signs
Sat on cardboard thrones with the ones left behind
“Blessed are the empty
” he said soft and clear
“And the ones who think God forgot them here”

[Chorus]
“Send me to the four corners of the Earth
Dust and snow
Ashes
Gold and dirt
From the crowded markets to the quiet fields
I will speak Your name till every heart yields
If I’ve got breath
I’ve got a sermon in my chest
Till the last lost soul comes home to rest”

[Verse 3]
Then came the deserts
Copper and bone
Sandstorm choirs
Sunburnt stone
He shared canteens with wandering men
Who swore the sky was silent
Swore hope was pretend

Under battered tarps where the wind cut thin
He told them of a Shepherd still gathering in
Of water that rose in the driest place
They laughed
Then listened
Then asked for grace

[Pre-Chorus]
He learned a few words in every tongue
But mercy was the language on his lungs
He’d draw a cross where the dust would lie
And point from the ground to the pale blue sky

[Chorus]
“Send me to the four corners of the Earth
Dust and snow
Ashes
Gold and dirt
From the crowded markets to the quiet fields
I will speak Your name till every heart yields
If I’ve got breath
I’ve got a sermon in my chest
Till the last lost soul comes home to rest”

[Verse 4]
Next came the islands
Salt on his skin
Palms like praying hands in the ocean wind
He preached on beaches where the tides ran high
As kids chased waves and the old folks sighed

He blessed their boats and their broken nets
Sat through storms he’d never forget
Watched a drunkard pour his last glass out
Fall in the sand
Finally free of doubt

[Verse 5]
Up to the mountains thin with cold
Villages clinging to the cliffs like hope
He climbed with knees that creaked like doors
Just to leave a gospel in those distant stores

He sang in chapels made of stone and smoke
Where candles shook when the old beams spoke
A widow pressed coins in his tired hand
“Tell them I believed
” was her only demand

[Bridge]
[Music drops to guitar and vocal]
He wrote home letters in a crooked scrawl
“Sometimes I’m empty
Sometimes I crawl
But every valley has a listening ear
Every corner of the Earth
The Lord is already near”

[Band swells
Subtle choir enters]
He got sick one winter near a foreign shore
Fever like fire
Couldn’t walk anymore
Lying on a pallet in a borrowed room
He whispered
“If this is it
I’ve done what I was born to do” (oh Lord)

[Verse 6]
News came slowly back where he’d begun
A photograph faded by the southern sun
Mama in her apron by the kitchen door
Holding stories of her boy who’d gone to preach the poor

Some said he wasted what he could have been
Chasing ghosts and dreams in a foreign wind
But harbor to hilltop
Alleyway to farm
He’d left quiet revivals blooming in his arms
