In the first chapter of Luke’s gospel, we find the story of the annunciation–the angel Gabriel’s announcement to the virgin Mary that she would conceive and give birth to the Saviour. Understandably, Mary is shocked! But even before the incredible news, she’s shocked by the angel’s greeting alone. As we explore the story and the words of Gabriel to Mary, we’ll discover what it means to be highly favoured and how we fit into God’s promises.
