Urgently collecting documents and evidence, on December 19, Que Vo Town Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Department and Provincial Police to solve the case and issued a decision to criminally detain 4 subjects, all in Dong Trieu town, Quang Ninh province for the act of “Property robbery”, including 2 subjects who had previous convictions for the crime of “Property robbery”.

The mastermind and leader of this group of subjects is Hoang Van Hieu, 28 years old.
At the investigation agency, in the initial investigation, the subjects confessed that they had rented a Ford Transit car to travel on National Highway 18 and National Highway 5 to catch passengers. When they discovered passengers holding luggage waiting for the bus, the suspects stopped the bus, pulled the passengers into the car, threatened and robbed them.
The mastermind confessed that his group forced passengers to get on the bus and demanded money from 3 million VND to 5 million VND/person; If the customer does not pay, they will be beaten, threatened, and asked to call relatives to transfer money to the account number. When you receive the money, drop the passenger off along the way.
With the above trick, from June 2023 until now, this group has appropriated over 200 million VND from passengers. The police have identified 15 victims from many provinces and cities across the country; At the same time, 1 Ford Transit car, 1 switchblade and some related documents and objects were confiscated.
According to the People’s Police: Ms. Nguyen Thi H, the victim of Hieu and his accomplices, said: “I was waiting for a bus when the subjects forced me to get into the car and demanded 5 million VND. If I didn’t have it, the subjects beat me continuously. on me. I was very scared, so I had to call my family to transfer money to the garage and then they chased me out of the car in the middle of the street.”
Major Nguyen Ha Nam, Captain of the Criminal Police Team, Que Vo Town Police, said that the subjects were mobile on the route, making it difficult to verify and clarify. Victims often do not report when their property is robbed, making the investigation process difficult. Warn people to catch vehicles at the right place, in the parking lot, and proactively report to the police when detecting signs of violations.
