On the morning of December 29, the Green Living Festival within the framework of the program Communication and propaganda for environmental protection and sustainable development of seas and islands in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province was held in Phuoc Hai town, Phuoc Hai district. The program was attended by leaders of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, hundreds of students, and armed forces in the province. In particular, attending the program were Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie and musician Giang Son.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh – Vice Chairman of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee said that in the past years during the process of socio-economic development, the provincial government has paid special attention to environmental protection. . “However, in the process of development, environmental issues increasingly pose extremely heavy tasks for all levels and sectors, especially the response and companionship of the people. With today’s program, we hope that all levels, sectors and people will raise awareness of environmental protection. We hope that media agencies will increase information and spread the message of environmental protection so that Ba Ria – Vung Tau in particular and Vietnam in general can develop sustainably,” Mr. Vinh said.
At the program, the Organizing Committee donated 100 trash cans to households here, with the hope that people will put their trash in the right place. The organizing committee also donated 4,000 cloth bags to people and tourists in the Phuoc Hai market area, with the hope that people would reduce the use of plastic bags and replace them with environmentally friendly cloth bags.

Ms. Phan Kim Phuong – a resident of Dat Do district, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, said that as a business person, in recent times she has always complied with environmental hygiene in business and water source conservation. Clean, no littering.
“In addition, I also participate in training sessions and environmental sanitation topics organized by the locality. During the buying and selling process, I often remind customers to dispose of trash properly. On today’s launching ceremony, I promise to keep the surrounding environment clean. At the same time, we call on people and business households in the area to join hands with the government to protect the local environment,” Ms. Phuong shared.

At around 7:30 a.m., right after the launching ceremony, delegates and people participating in the Green Living Festival set out to clean up trash on the beach in front of Phuoc Hai embankment; Decorative painting on the embankment.
Participating in the program’s activities, Miss H’Hen Niê said that she is a child of the Central Highlands, so talking about nature and living close to nature is very practical for her personally.

“I see that here people are conscious of not leaving trash indiscriminately. Now I urge tourists to bring their own trash or put it in the right place when they go anywhere. Because plastic waste is very difficult to decompose, making the beaches no longer beautiful. Continuing to join hands with the provincial government to protect the environment is to protect future generations,” said Miss Universe Vietnam 2017.
On the same morning, the leadership delegation of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and Dat Do district organized a visit to Ca Ong temple and the hero Vo Thi Sau church.
