Supreme Court rejects prosecutor’s push to fast-track ruling in Trump election subversion case


Tonight, on the current, the Supreme Court has rejected a request by special counsel Jack Smith in his case against former president Donald Trump. Now Smith had asked the Supreme Court to fast track arguments surrounding Trump and if he has immunity from federal prosecution for alleged crimes he committed while he was president. So basically what this all means is if the court had accepted request, it would have been the first time in American history that a former US president was prosecuted for actions taken while in office. But instead today's order now allows a Federal Appeals Court to hear the case first, Which is what Trump's team had urged the court to do. This could also mean the cases. March 4th trial date for special counsel, Jack Smith could be delayed. Yeah.
