well meanwhile the rains this week causing A disruption to the soil and in some cases can cause the Earth to give way last night in wikii watchi this giant hole forming you can see that here it's in a private neighborhood and actually there was also work being done on that very Street ABC Action News reporter lyia Vasquez is in Hernando County for us this evening and that's a pretty big SC cool take a look at this someone who lives in Hernando County sent us a drone video showing a massive hole in one Community it's on a private property where we're told a home is being built I thought it was just a couple days ago that I saw it so I don't know how long it's been there but finally the whole Community knows about it and everybody's been driving by and taking and it's getting bigger the initial picture and initial video looked like it was um less wide and now it seems like it's getting closer to the newer house there caution tape now surrounds the perimeter of the property in Royal Highlands neighbors say the Steep hole is still too close for comfort I'm scared I'm I'm scared my house is next I mean it's right there now we're just waiting to see where else it's going to pop up and there's so much land here that they're just going to continue building all this is going to be houses at some point and this is just going to make things worse for the people that live here fando County officials tell us as far as the inspections go the owner or the company would need to hire a specialized engineering firm to do an inspection we haven't been able to confirm whether this is technically a sink Cole but Julie Nunes tells me she's on high alert I I'm scared like even now just yesterday I was researching how we can try to get our house checked to see and make sure there's no movement going on underneath us because if it's that close where else is it going to happen Southwest Florida Water Management District tells us ultimately the property owner is responsible for remediation It also says the property owner plans to get a geotechnical company on site to help in Hernando County I'm Lydia Vasquez ABC Action News
