The big story at 530, a man seen on video beating a dog with a chain. It happened at a gas station in Deltona. Other people saw what was going on, and they jumped in to stop the suspect and save the pup. Fox 30 Five's Chris Lindsey tells us that that Suspect ended up behind bars, and the dog is now safe. Chaos at a Deltona gas station away from here. It all started with a man accused of attacking his dog with a chain. He's beating the #### out of it for no reason. Poor dog. Cell phone video recorded by witnesses appears to Show the suspect pick something up and swing it at the dog. Your recall recorded the ARREStrillionEPORT says witnesses also saw 31 year old Jose Rivera punched the dog. It's getting very ugly. There's a whole bunch of guys getting ready to fight. Guys got a pit bull and he's being very Abusive. Several people stepped in to help. One of them grabbed the dog and put it in their car. As they waited for deputies. This sparked a fight between Rivera and a few people. A few minutes went by before deputies showed up to calm the situation down. I don't want, I want, I Don't want to sit down right now. You have to sit down. Rivera was arrested. Your hands behind your back, charged with animal cruelty and several counts of battery for the fight. The dog is okay, but it was found with cuts and open wounds. Sheriff Chitwood says the dog was turned over to Deltona Animal Control. They gave it to someone who does not live with Rivera in Deltona
