He stuck his head in the sucking hole, his limbs became paralyzed and he was taken to Hospital E (Tran Cung street, Hanoi) for emergency treatment and surgery. Immediately after that, he was taken to Bach Mai hospital for monitoring and treatment. However, Due to a severe neck injury, doctors diagnosed her recovery as unlikely.
Immediately after the incident, leaders of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector visited, gave gifts and encouraged Nguyen Minh Triet and his family. Hanoi National Sports Center also took care of all treatment costs for athletes according to regulations.

Born on October 20, 2006, is an athlete of the Army and the Vietnamese youth gymnastics team. Before the accident, 17-year-old Nguyen Minh Triet was a very hard-working athlete who actively practiced, always dreaming of following the example of generations of seniors who trained hard to become talented, contributing achievements to the country’s gymnastics.
Triet has been the hope and pillar of the family, because Triet’s father is over 60 years old and his mother has cancer. Above Triet, there is an older sister born in 2002, an older brother born in 2004 who had an electrical accident and is unable to work. Below Triet, there is a 5-year-old younger sister. The whole family lives together in a rented house of 18 m2.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Minh sadly said: “Nguyen Minh Triet has been practicing gymnastics since he was 7-8 years old, now about 10 years ago. He is very passionate about sports, trained in the Army unit, and then in 2018 was promoted to the gym. Practicing with the national youth gymnastics team at National Nhon Sports Training Center (Hanoi).
My family has 4 children, Triet is the third but is the economic and spiritual pillar of the whole family. I’m retired, my salary isn’t much, so I work as a security guard every day. My mother has cancer. Triet’s older brother was electrocuted when he was young, so he is now unable to work. Mr. Minh expressed his wish that as long as his son could live, that was enough for him.

The Vietnam Gymnastics Federation will continue to receive support for athlete Nguyen Minh Triet through his account until December 27, 2023. After that, the Federation will carry out inventory procedures, notify received funds and implement procedures to hand over funds to families. After December 27, 2023, all donations sent through the federation’s account will be automatically refunded to the sender’s account.
