WELCOME TO WORSHIP
In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Paul’s. We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today. We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR TODAY’S WORSHIP
Lord Jesus, I was lost in darkness, yet you brought light to my eyes to see the glory of your work for me. Yet I can still allow my eyes to be darkened by pain and temptation and pride, so shine the light of your grace ever brighter before me. Help me see ever clearer your love for me as shown in the cross and empty tomb. In your name I pray. Amen.

THE GLORIA GONE AGAIN?

As was the case for Advent, Lent is a season that emphasizes repentance. Thus, the Lutheran Church has traditionally removed the Gloria (the song of praise following Confession and Absolution that begins “Glory to God…”) during the season of Lent just as it does during the season of Advent. As we make our way to the cross of Christ on Good Friday, we want to prepare our hearts with repentance to appreciate more fully the punishment he fully took in our place. We look forward to singing the Gloria again in the season of Easter as we joyously celebrate the glory of our risen Savior.

MIDWEEK LENTEN SERVICES

Our repentant Lenten journey continues as we gather for worship Wednesdays at 7:00 pm for midweek Lenten services that will take us through the Passion account (the account of Jesus’ suffering), preparing us for the full depth of our Holy Week celebrations.

Our series for our midweek Lenten services is called It Is Finished. This series takes worshipers through ten of Zechariah’s prophecies, particularly as they relate to the events of Jesus’ Holy Week suffering, death, and resurrection, and what Jesus’ fulfillment of those prophecies means for God’s people—now and in eternity. Join us as we once again look at and apply to our lives the greatest week of world history and the events that changed everything for us.

EASTER FLOWERS

There is an Easter flower sign‑up sheet located in the church entryway. Several types of flowers are available to choose from, and your purchase may also be made in honor or memory of a loved one. The flowers will be delivered by Easter Sunday, April 5, and may be taken home that day.

BAKE SALE

On Sunday, March 29th, PACE will be hosting our annual bake sale between services in the church basement. Funds raised will help support the Easter Egg Hunt and various other PACE initiated events throughout the year. If you would like to donate a baked good for the event, feel free to bring an item to the church basement on Saturday, March 28th, between 9:00-10:00 am or on March 29th prior to the first church service. If baking isn’t your expertise, feel free to indulge in the talents of those others have prepared!

EASTER EGG HUNT

On April 4th, your St. Paul’s School will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the children (ages 0-10) of our congregation and community. The event will start at 10:00 am and will include an egg hunt, games, an Easter story, Easter craft, and door prizes. We hope that our St. Paul’s family will help support the event by either attending the event, spreading the word, or attending the bake sale. Thank you for your support.

EASTER BREAKFAST

The church will be having an Easter breakfast again this year between services 7:15- 9:00 am. If you are interested in donating breakfast sweets (cinnamon rolls, coffee cake) please contact Pam Hoth 386-0169, Linda Hoth 461-0055, or Ruth Elsen 461-8092.
