Overview

WWE Metal, originally titled WWF Metal, was a professional wrestling television program produced by the World Wrestling Federation, now known as World Wrestling Entertainment. The series aired in syndication on a weekly basis, beginning in 1999 and concluding in 2002. As a syndicated program, the show functioned as a replacement for WWF Shotgun Saturday Night. The series ran from September 4, 1999, until May 18, 2002. Throughout its broadcast history, the program featured the same professional wrestling matches as the show WWF Jakked, though it utilized a distinct announce team. Following the conclusion of its run, the program was replaced in syndication by the series WWE Afterburn. The show was produced under the World Wrestling Federation banner during its initial tenure. Archival records indicate the series spanned multiple years, including 1999, 2001, and 2002. The program is documented as having episodes dating back to October 1999, with the first season beginning in August 1999.
