Overview

Released in 2018, Wheely is a Malaysian animated comedy film also known as Wheely: Fast and Hilarious. The movie was written and directed by Yusry Abd Halim as his first animated film, with co-direction by Carl Mendez. The voice cast includes Ogie Banks, Zizan Razak, Gavin Yap, and Johan Raja Lawak. Set in an imaginary world where vehicles are the citizens, the story takes place in Gasket City and follows an underdog cab. The main character is an unglamorous black and yellow local cab driver from the lower ranks of society who attempts to become king of the road in his hometown. Wheely faces an uphill battle when he is threatened by elitist attitudes and mobster trucks, and he must attempt to save his dream girl from a monstrous 18-wheeler truck who serves as the mastermind of a luxury car-napping syndicate. Through his journey, the protagonist ultimately discovers that staying true to oneself is a greater pursuit than personal glory as he strives to rise to the challenge and become a global hero.
