Overview

Ferdinand is a 2017 animated film centered on a young bull who possesses a gentle temperament. While other bulls in his environment spend their time jumping, snorting, and engaging in head-butting contests, Ferdinand prefers to sit quietly under a cork tree and smell the flowers. As he matures into a large and strong animal, his peaceful nature remains unchanged. The plot takes a turn when five men arrive at his home to select a candidate for the bullfights held in Madrid. They are tasked with finding the biggest, fastest, and roughest bull available for the event. Due to a misunderstanding, Ferdinand is mistakenly chosen by the men to participate in the bullfights. The story follows the consequences of this selection as the bull, who favors tranquility over aggression, is thrust into a situation that contrasts sharply with his true personality. The film explores the challenges Ferdinand faces as he is removed from his quiet life and forced into a role that does not suit his character.
